If you found yourself in a surgery with a doctor who claimed to be called Doctor Love before asking you to remove your clothes and lie on the bed. How far do you think you would get before you questioned him? Let’s face it, if it was after 10am and you’d already started drinking then you’d have a think about it, especially if he looked like the hunk of burning malpractice suits waiting to happen that he does here. Fortunately we don’t need to be drunk or desperate to enjoy Next Gen’s trademark Aussie humour in this enjoyable five reel title.
As you might guess, Doctor Love is Wild. But he still has room for a teddy bear on his five reels. Aww. He also has room for a flame haired temptress nurse, so don’t go gooey on him just yet. The reels are decorated with the tools of the good doctor’s trade – stethoscopes, crutches, pills and charts – which spring into life to the tune of a blaring jazz riff when we score a winning line.
Speaking of which, Doctor Love uses 20 paylines, probably to blackmail his patients into keeping their mouths shut. Paylines pay left-to-right and payline wins are multiplied by the bet-per-line, while Scatter wins are multiplied by the total bet.
If you say to a lady, “Do you want to see my Love Meter,” she’d probably tell you to go malpractice yourself (although she might secretly be impressed that you had a metre of it). Well, Doctor Love’s Love Meter is our Scatter symbol, triggering 10, 15 or 20 free games when we land three, four or five of them respectively (which is incidentally not seemingly what Doctor Love is offering his patients). All prizes are tripled during the free spins, which is like the bill when you go private. Who cares if anyone else thinks that’s impressive? He’s a Doctor not a pool attendant, and surely that’s enough to get anyone’s blood pressure up.
As is his Gamble Feature. This isn’t when he asks a patient to choose his organ, but an option for all of us players to gamble each win on the flip of a card. Guess the correct colour and we double our win, guess the correct suit and we quadruple it. Guess incorrectly and we lose that win, so it’s as much of a gamble as walking in to the Doctor’s surgery in the first place.
Next Gen Gaming are renowned for their deadpan Aussie humour, and Doctor Love Slot gameplay is flush with it. There’s plenty of opportunity for base game wins while the bonus feature will make us gag for the good Doctor’s Love Meter all day long.
