1X2 Network is an award-winning online casino content developer and aggregator that has been entertaining players for more than two decades.

Through its 1X2gaming and Iron Dog Studio subsidiaries, it designs and develops blockbuster content that often goes on to top operator game lobbies for months on end.

It has found particular success with recent Megaways slots including Megaways Jack, Rock the Reels Megaways and 1 Million Megaways BC, which offers one million ways to win.

We sat down with Jason Bradbury, Head of Business Development and Marketing at 1X2 Network, to learn more.

It has been a big year for 1X2 Network and your 1x2gaming and Iron Dog Studio subsidiaries – what has been the main highlights for you?

The main highlight has been the continued roll out and success of our Branded Megaways games. This concept allows operators to quickly and easily launch Megaways slots wrapped around their own branding and themes. I think operators and players alike now are recognising 1X2 Network/Iron Dog Studio as the home of Branded Content. We released 21 of these games this year which is a testament to our in-house design teams.

Your non-branded Megaways games seem to be performing really well – what is the secret to using BTG’s famous mechanic to deliver new and exciting player experiences?

Using popular mechanics within the Megways titles themselves is the key here. For example, our Locked Reel feature locks the reel at 7 symbols high during the Free Spins bonus to provide some chunky wins which players love. We have rolled this out across our most popular Megaways slots including Santa’s Big Bash and Megaways Jack.

Why do you think Megaways games have become so popular?

"Our maths models are proven as we have more than 20 years of experience in building slot games."

It was a trend that was born out of the success of Bonanza.  In fact, the first couple of Megaways games didn’t really take off, especially not to the levels that Bonanza went on to achieve. But once Bonanza started to top the charts, everyone wanted a slice of the pie.

I think players love it because it was something different from the standard 5×3 slots they were used to. It offered fresh and exciting ways to win with massive win potential and today developers are licensing Big Time Gaming’s IP and wrapping their own innovations and features around it.

We recently read about your new Bonus Upgrader feature. Can you tell us a little bit more about what this is and how it works?

It allows players to buy into a bonus feature straight away and it also allows them to upgrade that bonus to get a better starting position and even unlock features that cannot normally be accessed by triggering the bonus organically. It has been designed to deliver more value to players and to allow them to quickly access the bonus features within the game that they enjoy the most.

What makes your slots different to others in the market? If players haven’t tried your games before, what can they expect?

Our maths models are proven as we have more than 20 years of experience in building slot games. We know what players like, and we know how to deliver it. High win potentials with common features and regular events are key to driving player engagement and here at 1X2 Network, we have cracked the code when it comes to creating blockbuster content that not only meets but exceeds player expectations.

What do you have planned for the next 12 months? Any secrets you can share with us?

More Branded Content for sure. We are also taking the most popular mechanics in the market and putting our unique twist on them by allowing operators to brand certain elements of them. In terms of a secret to share – we are exploring the new vertical ‘multiplayer’ and have a few games road mapped which promise to deliver never seen before experiences to the player.
