We caught up with Johan Persson, co-founder of Just For The Win, to find out more about the popular game studio that sets out to create fun, feature-rich titles with unique mechanics and gameplay.

Can you introduce us to Just for the Win in no more than two sentences?

Just For The Win is a five-year-old game studio founded in Sweden, focusing on improving by making every new game better than the last. Our ever-growing portfolio currently offers around 40 high-quality premium video slots, all available exclusively on Microgaming’s award-winning platform.

What makes your slots stand out from those developed by other studios?

We do not try to be different from other providers; we focus on our ideas and what we believe to be a great game. We want to make the best games possible, to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Just For The Win sets out to create fun, feature-rich titles with unique features and mechanics. We always go the extra mile to make the best games with the broadest player reach.

Your slots have a high production value – how is this achieved?

"All game ideas and themes come from employees in the company. Anyone can pitch an idea, and working on your own idea is a great motivator."

Thank you, we take pride in our work, and we work hard from idea to finished product. All of our employees are very talented, and we all love to play games, from slots to video games and board games. To have game teams put their own touch on the products makes them unique—a Just For The Win game.

Your games are so unique. Where do you derive inspiration for the themes and storylines

All game ideas and themes come from employees in the company. Anyone can pitch an idea, and working on your own idea is a great motivator.

Most, if not all, ideas come from someone inside the company. We have very creative minds. Anyone can pitch an idea, and it does not have to be a whole game idea. It can be a theme, mechanic or a specific feature. We then work together to iron out any potential issues in math, mechanics or features and make sure it fits the suggested theme. Being able to work on your vision is a great motivator which often renders a better product.

How do you ensure thrilling gameplay across your portfolio of titles?

We always strive to make the best and most exciting player journey in all our games, and nothing is left to chance. All the building blocks of our games are designed inhouse. Maths and game mechanics are matched with carefully selected features and themes to produce a high-end product with a fun and exciting beat.

Can you tell us more about some of the unique features and mechanics we see in your games?

Our upcoming game, Kodiak Kingdom, is based on the mechanic with increasing multipliers that we believe all slot players love. However, we just turned the ‘value’ switch to 11 and linked the mechanics in a way that allows huge potential when Multiplier Wilds are combined with the powerful Kodiak symbol.

Kodiak Kingdom is a feature-rich game with Multiplier Wilds in both main game and free spins with an increasing win multiplier, feature buy and an insane 25,000x bet max win.

Can you tell us more about the progressive jackpot that features in Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot?

In Sherlock & Moriarty: WowPot, you collect tokens to reach the jackpot, which gives you a chance at a life-changing win. The WowPot Jackpot is a part of Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, which also features the Mega Moolah. The Mega Moolah has paid out over 1.45 billion EUR, and our game, Juicy Joker Mega Moolah, features that jackpot.

What can we expect from Just For The Win in the coming months? Any secrets you can share?

Next year is going to be an exciting one! We have a well-planned roadmap with many great games I look forward to reading the reviews on. We also have our first Holiday themed game, Plenty of Present, planned for release in early December.
