Barnsley fans heading to Oakwell on 13th December 2025 are in for more than just a pre-Christmas League One clash. This year, halftime is getting a festive twist thanks to Casino Kings’ Santa Showdown, a chaotic, hilarious, and heartwarming challenge that’s guaranteed to steal the spotlight.
A Halftime Treat Like No Other
With Barnsley hosting Leyton Orient for their final home fixture before Christmas, the Oakwell crowd will witness two lucky fans transformed into whirling, wobbling Santas in front of a roaring stadium. Picture dizzy spins, frantic dashes, and one determined Santa lining up for a penalty. Sounds like chaos? That’s the point.
“At Casino Kings, this is the stuff we love,” said Jack Dunn, COO at Casino Kings. “The Santa Showdown will be one to remember for the fans.”
How the Santa Showdown Works
At halftime, two participants step onto the pitch for a festive obstacle course disguised as a race. Here’s how it unfolds:
Each fan starts just outside the penalty area, facing a marker stick.
Spin around the stick five times. Yes, it’s as dizzy as it sounds.
Sprint 15 yards to grab a Casino Kings branded Santa costume, putting it on piece by piece: hat, suit, belt, beard.
Spin, run, dress, repeat… until fully transformed into Santa.
Race to the penalty spot, where a ball awaits. One shot. One chance. Score first, and the prize is yours!
