Bermuda has always been a mystery. Why anyone would wear those shorts is beyond me. Apparently the place is also known for mysterious disappearances, which is the inspiration for this online slot from Next Gen Gaming. Makes sense really. A five reel Slot with reels full of brightly coloured flowery shorts doesn’t sound incredibly appealing. This tasty number has plenty to offer though, including a death-defying rescue, transforming skies and vortexes that bring us extra multipliers.
Gameplay
Right from the off we know we’re into a tense thriller of a slot. The soundtrack is ominous and the hue green – the oceans green, the clouds green, the Bermuda Triangle green. It’s like a scene at the end of The Matrix. Our hero is a Pilot, fighting his way through the teeming rain. The colour of it? You guessed it – green. Our Pilot is the game’s Wild, substituting for all other symbols except the Badge and Map Scatters.
The high symbols are other elements to this rescue story – our plane, a ship, a radio, a life vest (let’s hope our Pilot won’t be needing that) – while the low symbols are standard 9s through Aces. The game runs along the 25 payline stretch, ever hoping that none of these paylines lead into…the Bermuda Triangle!
Bonuses
Landing three or more Badge Scatters triggers the Free Games Feature, which bestows 12 free spins and turns everything red – the ocean, the sky, the lot. Landing a Radar Symbol on Reel 5 hastens the arrival of a weird vortex-type number in the sky which spins orbs round the sky. Sounds weird, but at least it increases the win multiplier by one every time the radar appears and bumps up our winning potential as the Free Spins progress.
The game’s second bonus feature – the Rescue Bonus – launches when we land three or more Map symbols across a played line, including from within the Free Games Feature.
