Dead World Slot
Last Updated
No, this isn’t an online slot themed around Donald Trump’s election to President. Dead World Slot is a five reel, 50 pay-line effort from 1x2Gaming based on zombie-apocalypse terror. Although, when you look at it like that, the two aren’t so far between. But what studio is better placed than 1×2 Gaming – the developer that brought us the Dark Thirst and Halloween Horrors Online slots – to deliver a dark, atmospheric zombie-theme? Who indeed.
Gameplay
Think of zombies and we think of blood, brains, groaning and decapitation. 1×2 Gaming stays faithful to our core zombie-slot needs, delivering a superb atmosphere that makes us want to go one-on-one with these zombies and take them out. Not for dinner. There’s blood, there’s eyeballs, there’s rancid, rotting skin that looks seriously in need of moisturizing. And a soundtrack that oozes post-apocalypse zombie flick.
Played across 50 pay-lines, this Dead World slot is incredibly visual. All kinds of zombies in all states of decomposition and a few no-nonsense heroes with zombie-culling on their agenda form our game symbols. You may think that our heroes would be the highest-paying symbols, but 1×2 Gaming doesn’t work that way. Our top-paying symbol is a rotting skeleton, and our Wild symbol looks like some sort of mummified half-zombie. The whole aesthetic of the game is excellent, finished in a sketchy comic-book style that evokes the Caliber Comics originals perfectly. The artwork doesn’t necessarily bring the zombies to life, but nevertheless manages to scare the bejeezers out of us anyway. Who’s on our side? We don’t know. And if you look carefully in the pay table 1×2 Gaming accepts no responsibility for zombie attacks.
Bonuses
Apart from our Wild and our generous skeleton, the Dead World slot offers a dedicated Shooting Range bonus feature. Landing three or more Hagraven Bonus symbols anywhere on the board and we launch the bonus game. We are now faced with a shooting gallery of zombies, but we only have six shots in our revolver. Hit the zombies and we reveal a cash prize, but after our six shots are finished we’d better head back to the base game quicker than you can say “I’ve been bitten and my brains are falling out”.
Summary
With only one bonus feature you may be forgiven for thinking that Dead World is a slot that doesn’t offer as much as some of 1×2 Gaming’s other releases, but what it lacks in bonus features it makes up for with base game game-play. 50 pay-lines are enough to keep us interested, while the sheer atmosphere and game design makes us want to lock the door and play Dead World with the lights off.
