Bun In The Oven Scratchcard
Last Updated
Bun in the Oven is an online scratchcard game from UK-based developers Black Pudding Games. It was released in early 2021 alongside two similar scratchcard titles – the surgery-themed Slice & Dice and the mouse-hunting adventure Squeaky Blinders. Like the other two titles in the trio, Bun in the Oven boasts attractive graphics and sound design, a humorous, tongue-in-cheek tone, and modern scratchcard game-play features like a programmable Auto Reveal and the Super Selector feature.
- Lots of bet options.
- Super Selector feature.
- Fast, simple gameplay.
- No bonus rounds.
- Lack of variety in symbols.
- Sounds can get repetitive.
How to Play
Use the popup at the start of the game to choose a stake from 0.02p up to £10, then click the big red ‘Play’ button. Bun in the Oven is played on a three by three grid. Click the misty silhouettes on the oven door to wipe away the steam and reveal the baking goodies within. Match three cakes of the same colour to win a prize. Bun in the Oven has an Auto Reveal feature which can save you some clicks. Just click the fast forward symbol in the bottom left of the screen to reveal all the symbols. If you have a preferred pattern, you can set the order of the Auto Reveal by opening the options menu and dragging the numbered boxes around the grid.
What separates Bun in the Oven from other scratchcard games is the Super Selector feature, which provides you with a higher payout if you can reveal three matching symbols in fewer clicks. This is a great addition that really builds up the tension and excitement of the game. Black Pudding Games are best known for developing the revolutionary slots game Aeturna and it’s great to see them bringing the same creative thinking to their scratchcard games.
Symbols
Bun in the Oven’s symbols are all different coloured cupcakes, presented in a bright, cartoonish art style with a variety of delicious toppings and smiling, friendly faces. The red cakes are the highest paying and, with the Super Selector feature in play, these can reward you with 1000x your stake if you can reveal three in just three clicks, or 40x if you take all nine clicks. At the opposite end of the scale, the least valuable symbols are the pink cakes, which pay 25x your bet if you reveal three in three clicks. In between them, from most to least valuable, are the orange cakes, the yellow cakes, the green cakes and the blue cakes.
Bonuses
Bun in the Oven doesn’t have any bonus rounds, but has the Super Selector feature to add some extra excitement to the game-play.
