Cash Splash – 5 Reel
Last Updated
What could be better than a classic Online slot that could yield huge jackpots? Well, two extra reels for a start! Cash Splash 5 Reel from Microgaming is an updated and improved version from Cash Splash 3 Reel. Why they didn’t call it Cash Splash: Splash Casher I don’t know. For me that’s a missed opportunity. However, the good news is that it hasn’t proved detrimental to the quality of the game.
- Increased winning potential with more paylines.
- Retains classic feel with familiar symbols.
- Progressive Jackpot introduced for bigger wins.
- Jackpot doesn't occur frequently.
Gameplay
It’s impossible to detail an updated and improved slot title without referring to the original. So here goes. The original game features three reels, while Cash Splash 5 Reel has…err, five. What this gives us is more paylines – 15 here as opposed to the originals single payline – and therefore increased winning potential during the base game. This in turn allows for more variety in the gameplay, giving us more to see and do and therefore making the base game more exciting.
The new symbols added to our classic BARs, 7s and Cherries are equally as classic 10s through Aces, so we retain the authentic feel. The Game Logo is also Wild, substituting for all other symbols except the Scatter, which pay out for three or more landing anywhere on the five reels.
Bonuses
The original Cash Splash game featured a jackpot, and Microgaming have taken this sequel to the next level by introducing a Progressive Jackpot as the main bonus feature. Landing five Cash splash logos on the 15th payline with a Max Bet of €/$/£3 pays out the jackpot that ticks over at the top of the screen, itself serving as a tasty titillator to keep us intrigued.
While the jackpot is the ultimate Holy Grail in all progressive slots, it obviously doesn’t come round every day. So it’s nice that Microgaming have introduced a Scatter symbol, and in true slots form Scatter wins pay any rather than left-to- right as do our regular payline wins. Scatter wins can’t really be labelled a true bonus feature, but they are bonus wins so deserve to be mentioned.
Summary
By adding two extra reels Microgaming have already given us more to think about with this sequel and increased our base game and bonus winning potential. The wider scope allows for the progressive jackpot to potentially offer up some very healthy wins indeed. It’s true to say that it’s great to experience a classic, but the introduction of five reels lets us have one foot in both camps – we can have our cash and spend it.
