Aces & Faces Poker Game
Last Updated
One criticism that could be levelled at poker (if there is one!) is that the winning hands are all the same. Pair, Two Pair, Royal Flush etc. Genii freshens things up in Aces & Faces Poker by awarding extra payouts for hands made with Aces and Face Cards – the Royal cards of Jack, Queen and King.
- Innovative twist to regular poker.
- Quick game play.
- Hefty jackpot for an instant game.
- Crowded instant game market.
- Coin value and coin bet features complicate the betting options.
- Another twist on poker.
The aim is still to make a poker hand of five cards as we might in a thousand other online casino games, but with the added twist of additional rewards for landing face card hands. In Genii’s Joker Poker instant casino game we play the game with 53 cards, a regular 52 card deck plus the Joker. In Aces & Faces Poker the Joker doesn’t return as a Wild, and we instead focus on landing those face cards for higher payouts.
How to Play
Many modern casino games have done away with the twin interface of coin size and coin value. Playing more traditional casino games like European Roulette won’t be hampered in that way, though the multitude of betting options in Roulette obviously pose different issues. In Aces & Faces Poker you click the bet amount to load the betting interface. You can toggle the coin bet to increase the game’s payout, reflected on the pay table above the game board.
If you alter the coin size this will multiply your coins to give you a higher payout. Your total bet is your coin value multiplied by your coin size. Click “Deal” to draw five cards. You then have to select which cards you want to hold before the redraw. You can hold all five or switch all five, if you wish. The pay table above displays the hands and the payouts for each hand. In Joker Poker, Genii offers the first payout for Kings or better, but in Aces & Faces Poker the ante is downed to Jacks or better, meaning more chance to earn the 1:1 payout. Royal Flush remains the game’s top-paying hand.
Symbols
Regular playing cards make up the game’s symbols, requiring us to match the cards to the hands in the pay table to score winning hands. Poker hands are slightly more complex than in Blackjack, for example, where we need only try to get as close to 21 as we can. Traditional card suits of Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clubs make up the game symbols, which we use to form winning poker five card hands. Landing a 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace of the same suite awards the game’s top payout of 4,000 coins when playing at max bet.
Bonuses
The game’s Aces and Faces aspect kicks in by offering increased payouts for landing four Face cards or Aces. You also have a Double option, giving you the chance to risk your winnings to double them.
