In Virtual Horses that means the horse races start every three minutes. This gives us enough time to choose our bets carefully, digging into the form of each horse if we wish, while also giving us enough racing action to ensure we are never wondering where the next action is coming from.
How to Play
When we fire up the game we enter Leap Gaming’s Virtual Races dashboard, with access to other games in Leap’s virtual games series. The Virtual Horses dashboard brings up a list of horses set to race in the next race. We can choose any horse to win, place or bet each way, meaning that for double your stake you win the full payout if the horse wins, or bag a reduced return if it comes second or third.
You can choose to bet on more than one horse if you wish. Just like when placing bets at online bookmakers, your selections are added to your betslip, in Virtual Horses they appear on the right hand side of the screen. Enter your chosen stake and your potential returns will be shown alongside, but don’t forget to confirm your bet using the Submit Bet button.
Betting closes 10 seconds before the race starts, so make sure you don’t ponder too much! The commentator keeps us up to speed with which horses are in the lead, while a progress bar at the bottom of the screen gives us the order of the horses’ numbers.

The vibrant colours of the jockeys’ silks are what sets each horse apart at regular race meetings, and the same is true in Virtual Horses. They are our game symbols, in effect, as the position in which our horse finishes determines our wins.
